Hatton Beats Malinaggi with Ease

Ricky Hatton solidified himself as the best 140lb champion in the world this weekend. He also should make his way back up the P4P lists (although he really never should have left).

The fight was halted early as The Magic Man's trainer Buddy McGirt decided to throw in the towel. Paulie was visibly upset with his corner, but in my opinion it was the right decision. Malinaggi had no chance of winning the fight, he was being beat up and he was even embarrassing himself by holding on so much.

Malinaggi seemed to be embarrassed by the TKO, but he should have been more embarrassed about grabbing Hatton and not fighting back for much of the fight in fear of getting knocked out.

Guess what! It happened anyway.

Next for Hatton just may be the winner of next month's showdown between Oscar de la Hoya and Manny Pacquiao.

Intringuing...

Still, good fight for HBO and the undercard was decent, too. Brian Vera may have picked up the loss but at least he was entertaining.

I'm in the process of watching Hatton beat Paulie right now. But I did see the undercard all the way through, and I like Kirkland, alot. He looked better in this fight than in the couple of other fights I've seen. Vera can take a shot though. Good stuff.

Kirkland is a beast. His trainer is scary.
